There was a light knocking on the front door, it was so light it almost sounded suspicious. Orihime wearily walked into the hallway, but the knocking only became more urgent. She swallowed hard, frozen in her place. Suddenly the letterbox flap opened "Josei! Open the door- dammit!" cried a beefy-sounding voice- or rather someone trying to have a beefy voice. Orihime laughed in recognition and swung the door open "You are such a jackal Ishida, I thought someone dodgy was at my house."
"Aahh" He replied, his glasses glinting suspiciously in the sunlight, which only led to Orihime guffawing some more.
"Well, don't just stand out there in the cold, come on in!" She urged, gesturing for him to come inside.
"By the way, I got something for you" Uryu said as he hung up his plum coloured trench-coat on the rack. "It's not much, and yet..." He handed her a white and yellow box- it was clearly from a patisserie. She opened it up to reveal it was filled with the most luxurious looking assortment of doughnuts. "Oh my gosh! These looks so yummy!" She paused and narrowed her eyes suspiciously, putting on a Keira Knightly pout "May I inquire as to the occasion?"
Uryu chuckled "Must a father have an occasion to dote upon his daughter?"
"But your not my father"
"You have a point..."
They both walked into the cosy kitsch-inspired kitchen "N'ill put the kettle on" Orihime offered pulling out two personalized mugs from the cupboard "Tea, Coffee?"
"Coffee, please."
"You'll have what your given!" she snapped jokingly, whilst scooping a heaped tablespoon of coffee out of the jar, expecting Uryu to jump up from his seat with fright and plea she put in less. But to her suplise he remained calm and said nothing. Well if he's not going to say anything then I'm going to dunk it all in, she resolved to herself.
"Are you doing something later?" Ishida asked, nodding at the hot-rollers she'd pinned her hair around.
"Not much really. Rukia is in the WOTL for the day so we decided we'd grab some dinner at this new Italian restaurant that has been popping up in all the magazine recommendations" she explained selecting an especially enticing looking doughnut and dunking it into her drink "Mmmmm! These are so scrumptious!! I love them-mmm"
"I thought you might, they reminded me of you as soon as I saw them."
Orihime paused mid-bite "You what now? A doughnut reminded you of me? A doughnut!?"
"Hu-huh? No, no, I didn't mean like that- no just because I know you have just the right palette to appreciate the quality of them."
She raised a brow "That right? And not because they're fat and round and gluttonous like me that you instantly thought of me when you saw them?" She challenged.
"What!? Don't you dare, that's not what I thought at all! If anything they'd remind me of you because they're so happy and chirpy and positive just like you!" he said waving his hands frantically.
"ISHIDA YOU ARE SUCH A JERK!" She yelled throwing her mug at him, making the hot contents spill onto his clothes and soak through.
Uryu let out a sharp noise from the minor burn, but went on to ignore it "Orihime, the doughnuts didn't remind me of you because of appearance- I just knew you'd like them, that's all!" he explained adamantly
"You mean you thought I'm such a fat lard that I'd love to guzzle down lots of doughnuts!" she persisted
He gaped "I SWEAR I did NOT mean it like that- at ALL!! I just wanted to get you something nice that you'd enjoy!"
"Yeah, sure." She replied staring blankly at the wall behind him.
A few minutes passed in silence "Orihime..." Uryu began cautiously "Are you upset?"
"No." She answered sharply, making him flinch.
"I'm sorry, Orihime... Sorry." He looked down in defeat
"Stop sulking, I said I'm not angry."
"But, I thought..."
"Well you thought wrong." She closed her eyes and let out a sigh.
Uryu burst back to life "Anyway, what are you going to wear for your outing with Kuchiki-kun?"
Orihime peered down at her white fluffy gown "Isn't this good enough?"
"Yes, it looks really good on you! I was just wondering incase..." he nodded
"I was joking,"
"Oooh! But I really think it looks good"
"Why don't you pick an outfit for me to wear, since your the fashion guru?"
"Sure, if you trust my fashion sense."
"I don't, but I can always change if it doesn't work."
Uryu broke out into a smile "This is going to be fantastic, where do you keep your clothes?"
"On the roof. I keep them in this trunk Sora gifted me to protect them from the rain."
"Okay, I'll just go get them" He got up from his seat ready to clamber upon the rooftop.
"Uryu your such a bimbo sometimes, you fall for anything." Orihime laughed heartily
"I'm not a bimbo, I just trust in your every word" he defended
"Don't use that on me young man." She led him to her room and swung open her walk-in wardrobe "Well, knock yourself out." She said, then sat infront of the mirror and selected a foundation brush.
Uryu sifted through the jeans but found that he simply wasn't feeling the denim vibes today, and so quickly moved on. "These are pretty interesting" he muttered to himself peering at the wide variety of skirts. They were of all different kinds of lengths, patterns and material. He held out a yellow fluttery skirt with white polka-dot print in front of him for examination, then lowered it and thrust a white pencil skirt out in its place. "I'll hang on to both of these for the time being." He browsed through Orihime's tops carefully until he had three definite picks out of his top ten selection. But when he put them against the skirts he had chosen it just didn't feel right. All at once Ishida caught something shining from the corner of his eyes.  "Sequins..." he murmured, darting to the area he saw the sparkle coming from, his heart racing. He snatched the wooden hanger from the railing and stared at the piece of clothing that was draped on it. It was the most beautiful dress he had seen in time, and yet it had a very simple-chic feel to it. The top was grey and had dainty sequins covering it, while the skirt was plain- but the most gorgeous deepest, lugzurious purple in colour. "Uryu, are you okay in there?" Orihime called "I heard some crazy clattering"
Ishida gasped a little, only just remembering to breathe "Yes, I'm fine, nothing to worry about." He turned his attention back to the task at hand. "This has got to be it." With the main garment selected now all he had to do was find the accessories. A black waist-belt was swiftly selected, followed by navy tights and an understated clutch. Uryu pushed his glasses up and clenched the bridge of his nose in concentration as he tried to decide between black courts and maroon coloured platform heels that had ankle straps. In the end he opted for maroon pair.
"I've finished putting together an outfit for you" Uryu told Orihime as he walked out of her closet, holding the garments delicately.
"Oh really? What a quinky dink; I've just finished my make-up too. I'll just go try that on now."

"Tada! Whaddaya think?" Orihime asked twirling around in her fashionable outfit.
"Wow, it looks amazing, and I mean amazing." He paced around her for good measure. "I think it needs a little taking in from the waist though" he noted.
"I was just going to say that! snap!"
Ishida pulled out a sleek box the size of a pencil case and clicked it open "Never fear, I shall fix it in no time" he assured selecting a thread that perfectly matched the purple on Inou's dress. Then with one quick and accurate maneuver he looped it into a sharp needle and tied it. It wasn't long before there was a perfect fit around her waist. "I'm amazed every time I see you work, your incredibly fast." Orihime said "Thankyou! It looks great."
"I think you look absolutely perfect now." Uryu complimented
"You think so? So, like what part looks perfect exactly?" She inquired fishing for more nitty gritty praise.
"All of it looks wonderful."
"Really? Yeah, cause I wasn't really sure about the hair, a bit too wavy maybe..." She said looking in the mirror despite being content with the outcome.
"No, it's really nice."
"In what ways nice?" Inou pressed on.
Ishida contemplated, thinking of detailed descriptions in his mind in order to put the young lass at ease. "Your hair looks so thick and voluminous, yet soft, and the waves bring out the the luxurious auburn colour, which is why I believe firmly that it looks beautiful!"
This Orihime was pleased with "Thankyou, heheh" She said bashfully.

Uryu buttoned up his coat and threw on his scarf "I'll be on my way now, Ms. Inou.Thank-you very much for the coffee, allowing me to pick your outfit, and bask in your wonderful company."
"No problem! It was great having you over! Take care! Have fun! Live on!! Follow your dreams!" Orihime continued to shout words of support all the way until Ishida had disappeared around the corner.
She inhaled the fresh air and then clip-clopped in her stiletto's to meet with Rukia.
